Bologna sack Tedesco and appoint Palladino after just four matches
Serie A club Bologna have sacked head coach Domenico Tedesco after only four matches in charge, the club announced on Wednesday. Former Fiorentina and Atalanta manager Raffaele Palladino will replace him.
Tedesco had a start as Bologna manager in Serie A. He recorded one draw and three losses in his four matches. His team managed to score two goals during that stretch. The German coach was brought in during June after previous jobs with Fenerbahce and the Belgium national team.
Bologna has now confirmed they have reached an agreement with Palladino. He will be in charge until June 2029. Palladino began coaching at Monza, where he made an impression, over two seasons. He then moved to Fiorentina in 2024.
He spent most of season at Atalanta taking over as head coach in November. He stayed for seven months before leaving in June. During his time he led the Bergamo club to seventh place—just three points above Bologna, who finished eighth.
Tedesco is the manager dismissed in Serie A this season. Fiorentina let go of Fabio Grosso on September 6 bringing back Paolo Vanoli to restore order in Florence.
Bologna currently sit 16th in the Serie A table. They will host Torino on Saturday.
