Lamine Yamal scores twice as Barcelona hold off Levante in six-goal thriller
Barcelona made it five wins from five in LaLiga after beating Levante 4-2 at the Estadi Ciutat de Valencia, but Hansi Flick’s side had to survive a late scare before Karim Adeyemi settled the match in stoppage time.
Barcelona arrived having scored 22 goals in the five matches across all competitions and Barcelona’s confidence rose almost immediately.

Barcelona took the goal after just five minutes when Xavi Espart found a gap and put a low shot into the bottom‑left corner.
Levante answered the setback. Roger Brugue had a chance around the 15‑minute mark but Joan Garcia made an important save from close range to keep Barcelona ahead.
Barcelona’s side showed their edge. In the minute Raphinha went past Mathew Ryan and kept his composure from a tight angle before rolling the ball across the goal for Lamine Yamal to finish.
Levante did not let the game become comfortable. Victor Garcia nearly cut the deficit before the break after a Barcelona mistake and the home side continued to compete well against the league leaders.
Barcelona’s hopes faded early in the half when Yamal was brought down in the penalty area. The Spanish international took the spot‑kick himself. Converted confidently to make it 3‑0.
Raphinha, with two assists nearly added a goal of his own before the hour mark sending a shot narrowly wide. Levante kept fighting though. Substitute Ivan Romero had a close‑range effort cleared off the line by Andreas Christensen then forced another save from Garcia at the near post.
Romero finally scored in the minute taking advantage of another defensive error to make it 3‑1. Levante then gave Barcelona a fright when Brugue completed a fine solo move with a finish just before the end of normal time.
Barcelona suddenly found themselves under pressure after letting a three‑goal lead slip, to one.. Barcelona finished the game on the counter‑attack. Adeyemi broke forward in stoppage time. Scored Barcelona’s fourth to end Levante’s hopes of an equaliser.
The win keeps Barcelona top of LaLiga three points ahead of Real Madrid. Barcelona will host Racing de Santander on Wednesday while Levante remain 13th before welcoming Athletic Bilbao the night.
