Como continue unbeaten run with win over Parma
Como continued their impressive start to the season with a 2-1 win over Parma at the Stadio Giuseppe Sinigaglia, making it four victories from five matches in all competitions.
Cesc Fabregas’ side arrived full of confidence after their emphatic Champions League debut win over RB Leipzig, and they carried that momentum into another strong home performance. Como are still unbeaten this season, with four wins and one draw.

The hosts created the first chance from a well-worked corner on the left. Nico Paz found himself unmarked outside the area, but his 17-metre effort was blocked and deflected wide.
Yan Couto then tested Parma goalkeeper Edoardo Corvi, who pushed his shot behind for another corner. Como made that set piece count in the 23rd minute.
Paz delivered from the left and Jacobo Ramon arrived in the box to finish from close range. The goal gave Como a deserved lead and continued their sharp first-half form. The Lariani had already scored five goals before half-time across their Serie A matches this season.
Como kept most of the ball after going ahead, but Parma defended well enough to avoid further damage before the interval. The visitors had one genuine chance just before the break. Simone Lontani met Sascha Britschgi’s lofted pass on the edge of the area, but headed over the bar.
Parma started the second half slowly, then had a huge chance shortly after the hour mark. Emanuele Valeri sent a ball into the area for substitute David Romero, who was only four metres from goal. Robert Sanchez reacted brilliantly, diving to his left and pushing Romero’s first-time shot onto the post.
Como responded with another good opening. Maxence Caqueret played a precise pass through to Kaiki Bruno, who tried to lift the ball over the onrushing Corvi. His effort went narrowly wide of the right post.
Parma kept searching for an equaliser, but Como struck again in the 83rd minute. Samuele Ricci crossed from the right, Corvi failed to hold the ball, and Kaiki was on hand to score from eight metres.
Como nearly added a third. Corvi saved from Couto, before Caqueret fired the rebound just wide.
Parma did find a late consolation in stoppage time. Pontus Almqvist set up Romero, who finished well, but there was not enough time left for the visitors to force a draw.
Como held on for another win and extended their unbeaten head-to-head run against Parma to six matches, with three wins and three draws. Parma remain without a league victory and will look to change that when they host Genoa before the international break.
