Brentford stay unbeaten after Schade double frustrates Bournemouth

Brentford have now achieved one win. Three draws from their first four matches. Bournemouth will feel frustrated that Bournemouth could not turn a second‑half spell into a win especially after Bournemouth took the lead but Bournemouth remain the only Premier League side that Brentford have never beaten.

The match started at a pace but neither Brentford nor Bournemouth made use of their early chances. Keane Lewis‑Potter curled a shot that was narrowly wide for Brentford while Antonio Silva headed a free‑kick from Marcus Tavernier past the post at the other end.

Both Brentford and Bournemouth had scored first in every league game before this one so it was interesting to see who would break the pattern. After a spell Brentford finally scored.

Yegor Yarmolyuk sent a cross into the area. Schade rose to head the ball beyond Djordje Petrovic, who could not keep the ball out. Schade had scored a hat‑trick in this fixture season and Schade again proved a problem for Bournemouth.

Bournemouth responded well. Justin Kluivert forced Caoimhin Kelleher into a save. The rebound fell to Rayan but Rayan fired over when he should have done better.

Kluivert made amends afterwards. The ball found Kluivert inside the Brentford area. He placed a sharp finish into the bottom corner to bring Bournemouth level.

The hosts Brentford kept attacking after the equaliser. Kluivert was denied again by Kelleher while Antonio Silva headed wide from another set piece by Tavernier when he had found a position.

Bournemouth eventually took the lead through Tavernier. Evanilson combined neatly with Alex Scott before Scott fired over. The move showed Bournemouth growing threat and Evanilson was involved again after setting up Tavernier for a low finish into the bottom corner.

Bournemouths advantage lasted briefly because of a major error from Petrovic. The goalkeeper Petrovic played the ball straight to Schade, who had a goal in front of him and calmly finished to make it 2‑2.

It was Schades goal of the afternoon and a costly mistake for Bournemouth, who had been on top for much of the second half.

Bournemouth still looked the likely side to find a late winner. Tavernier forced Kelleher to push an effort while Rayan sent a shot narrowly wide from the edge of the box.. Neither Brentford nor Bournemouth could create one final decisive chance.

The draw means Bournemouths Premier League record against Brentford now stands at four draws and five defeats. For Brentford the point preserves their start although their away winless run, in the league has now reached seven matches with five draws and two losses.
