Raphinha Hat-Trick Powers Unstoppable Barça to Seven Goals Against Racing Santander

Raphinha scored a hat-trick as Barcelona powered to a seven-goal victory over Racing Santander in a LaLiga clash. The win keeps Barcelona’s start to the season alive with six consecutive LaLiga wins now under their belt. It was also Barcelona’s time scoring at least five goals in all competitions this season. 

For Racing Santander the defeat extended their winless run from home. They still haven’t picked up a point since returning to Spain’s top division.

Match highlight

Barcelona made their mark early grabbing the lead after eight minutes. Joao Cancelo, the defender produced a moment of magic. He took a cross from Lamine Yamal adjusted his body and curled a shot from 25 yards into the top corner. The ball bounced off the underside of the crossbar. Found the net. It was a highlight of a first 20 minutes where Barcelona controlled the game.

Raphinha had a chance to double the lead. Saw his shot saved by Julen Agirrezabala. Dani Olmo fired wide. Karim Adeyemi tried to catch the keeper out with a clever cross that just missed the post. The hosts kept pressing.

Barcelona’s pressure paid off again in the half when Pedri found Raphinha through on goal. The Brazilian was brought down by Pedro Felipe and Raphinha stepped up to score from the penalty spot. He sent Agirrezabala the way to make it 2-0.

Racing, who had been one of the scoring teams before the match responded in the 30th minute. Maguette Gueye grabbed a goal after picking up a ball just outside the box. He maneuvered past the Barcelona defense. Calmly put the ball into the net. It was 2-1. 

Barcelona answered swiftly. Six minutes later Cancelo struck again—this time from 30 yards out. His fierce shot beat Agirrezabala. Restored the two-goal advantage. 

Barcelona continued to dominate before halftime. Raphinha scored twice in the half making it his eighth goal in six league games. The Brazilian had a chance to make it three but was denied by a brilliant save.

There was drama before the break. Karim Adeyemi was fouled inside the box earning another penalty. This time Lamine Yamal took the kick. Agirrezabala made an excellent save to deny him.

The second half began with chances. Yamal hit the post. Racing nearly equalized when Juan Carlos Arana missed an opening. Barcelona made a change in goal when Wojciech Szczesny replaced the injured Joan Garcia. The experienced Polish keeper was immediately under pressure.

Szczesny was caught out after being pressed by Yassir Zabiri. The Racing forward won the ball. Slid it into an empty net. It was Zabiri’s goal of the season and made it 3-2. Barcelona didn’t lose focus.

At the end Adeyemi won a third penalty after being fouled by Iker Luque Sierra. Raphinha took it. Completed his hat-trick with a cool finish into the bottom corner. It was his goal of the night and the score was now 4-2.

Yamal had a night in front of goal. He hit the post. Had a goal ruled out for offside. He remained a key threat. With 11 minutes left Yamal delivered a cross that created space for Gabriel Jesus, who fired into the net. It was Jesus’s first league goal for Barcelona.

Racing nearly added a third when Zabiri came close again only to see his attempt stopped on the goal line. 

Barcelona broke forward down the left. Adeyemi fed Yamal. This time the teenager converted, netting the goal of the night. It was an end to an impressive performance.

The 7-2 victory extended Barcelona’s run of nine wins over Racing Santander. It also meant Racing have not won at Camp Nou since 1983. For Barcelona the message is clear: they are, in no mood to slow down. The team is firing on all cylinders. Showing no signs of losing momentum.
