Arteta came to the club in 2019. Led Arsenal to their first league title in more than 20 years last season. That was the moment of his time at the Emirates Stadium.

The champions have started this season well. They have won four of their five league games and are in second place in the table.

Arteta has been the manager of Arsenal for 361 games.

He has won 62.05 per cent of those matches. That is the win rate of any permanent manager in the club’s history.

“I feel proud to commit my future to the club. I want to keep working with people who always want the best for Arsenal. This club is special. It has its character and it creates strong feelings. I am very proud that our journey together will continue " Arteta said. “We have created a bond and made memories that will last a lifetime. The best part is that this is the start of what we can do together.”

The manager also thanked the co-chairmen of Arsenal, Stan and Josh Kroenke for their support during his time at the club.

“I am very thankful to Stan and Josh for their trust and help. I feel lucky to be leading this club during a time in its 140-year history.”

“This is a proud moment for me and my family. I feel the love and respect from our fans. I feel the way about them.”

Arsenal also said that members of Arteta’s coaching team have signed contracts that match the length of the manager’s deal.

The announcement ensures that the coaching team stays together as Arsenal aim to build on their success. With a start to the new season Arteta’s new contract shows the club’s commitment to the manager who brought the Premier League title back, to north London.
