Coventry stun Nottingham Forest for historic Premier League win
Coventry City claimed a historic Premier League victory as Jay Dasilva’s second-half goal secured a 1-0 win over Nottingham Forest at the City Ground, earning the Sky Blues their first points of the season and ending Forest’s six-match home losing run.
The visitors arrived searching for their first Premier League goal in 25 years. They played with discipline. Kept a tight formation. This made it hard for the Forest side to break through even though Forest dominated much of the half. Forest failed to find the breakthrough.

Forest started the match strongly. They recorded 14 shots before the break. That was the number of shots by any team in a single first half in the Premier League this season.
James McAtee fired a shot at Coventry goalkeeper Carl Rushworth in the first minute. That set the tone for a stretch of pressure from Forest.
Coventry had their chances. Jack Rudoni sent a shot over the crossbar from outside the area. Brandon Thomas-Asante was stopped by Matz Sels.
On the end Dan Ndoye and Neco Williams both tried long-range efforts. Rushworth made a save from Williams.

Coventry took the lead 10 minutes into the half in spectacular fashion. Rushworth launched a accurate pass to Dasilva on the left flank. The defender controlled the ball moved into the penalty area and calmly finished past Sels. It was a landmark Premier League goal for the club.
Forest’s struggles at home were evident. Since season they have won only once in 13 league games at the City Ground. That weight seemed to show in their performance. Their response was weak until substitute Igor Jesus brought energy to the attack.
The Brazilian looked like he would equalise after receiving a pass from Morgan Gibbs-White. He lifted the ball over Rushworth. Bobby Thomas made a great goal-line clearance.
Jesus later had a close-range opportunity. The goal was disallowed. He was judged to have fouled Caleb Yirenkyi during the build-up.
Coventry, managed by Frank Lampard stood firm through the minutes. They held on to secure a win. It was their second victory in six away games in the Premier League since being promoted from the Championship. Meanwhile Forest go into the break with more questions. They have now lost five consecutive league games against promoted teams, under manager Oliver Glasner.
