Olise and Kane inspire Bayern Munich’s 7-0 demolition of Union Berlin

Kanes goal was his 100th in the Bundesliga achieved in 98 appearances. An extraordinary mark that places him 31 matches ahead of the next-fastest player to reach the landmark.. This was also Olises night. The Frenchman tormented Union from the opening whistle. Capped a magnificent individual display with his first hat-trick for the club.

Bayern began at a tempo with Olise testing Frederik Ronnow inside two minutes. The hosts soon made their pressure count through Jamal Musiala, who collected the ball 20 yards from goal shifted it onto his foot and drilled a superb effort through a crowded area into the far corner.

Jonathan Tah came close to doubling the lead with a header only for Ronnow to produce an excellent save. 

At the end Manuel Neuer was required to leave his penalty area and make a crucial sliding challenge on Emmanuel Latte Lath ensuring Bayerns early dominance was not punished.

Olise was initially frustrated in his attempts to find the net. He played a pivotal role in Bayerns second. Felix Uduokhai brought him down in the box. Kane confidently converted the resulting penalty sending Ronnow the wrong way to claim his record-breaking century of Bundesliga goals.

There was still time before the break for Bayern to strike again. Olise finally got the goal his performance deserved curling an effort from outside the penalty area into the top corner to send the champions into half-time with a commanding advantage.

Union briefly showed attacking ambition after the restart. Neuer made a save to deny Janik Haberer and then tipped Tom Rothes header over the bar. Those moments of resistance however only delayed the inevitable.

Kane soon headed home his second from an Olise delivery underlining the destructive understanding developing between the pair. 

Ronnow then denied Luis Diaz twice. He could do little when Ismael Saibari, Bayerns summer signing from PSV weaved past three defenders before calmly finding the net.

Olise completed his treble in style. First he escaped the offside trap to meet a ball and scored after his initial effort struck the post. He then added a seventh bending a brilliant strike beyond the Union defence and into the corner.

For Union it was a low: their heaviest defeat, at this level and a 17th league goal conceded already this season. Bayern meanwhile climbed to the top of the table at temporarily after matching their biggest winning margin of 2026.
