What's new in V.League 2026/27?
Bắc Ninh and Trường Tươi Đồng Nai have joined V.League after earning promotion, replacing the relegated clubs from the previous season. The 2026/27 competition features 14 teams, including Công An Hà Nội, Thể Công – Viettel, Hà Nội, Ninh Bình, Thép Xanh Nam Định and Hoàng Anh Gia Lai.
The new season began on September 4, 2026 and is scheduled to finish on May 22, 2027. Each club will play 26 matches, facing every other team twice, once at home and once away. The team finishing top of the final standings will be crowned Vietnamese champion, while the bottom two clubs will be relegated to V.League 2 for the following season.
The 2026/27 season also introduces an important change to the foreign-player regulations. Each club can register up to four foreign players and use up to four foreign players on the pitch at the same time, an increase of one compared with the previous season. Clubs representing Vietnam in AFF and AFC competitions can register up to seven foreign players, although they remain limited to four on the field at any one time.
