The 32-year-old England captain has missed the 0-1 friendly defeat to Japan last month due to this issue, and was also absent from Bayern's 2-3 win over Freiburg.

Kane's potential return would be a huge boost for Bayern, with the outstanding striker having scored 48 goals in 40 appearances in all competitions this season.

The six-time European champions will be eager for him to recover in time to face Real Madrid, who comfortably secured their place in the quarter-finals with a 5-1 aggregate victory over Manchester City.

"It's important that he trained hard today. I don't think he's lost his rhythm. We'll wait until tomorrow to make a decision", Kompany told reporters on Monday.

'All the players are ready to play, except for goalkeeper Sven Ulreich. We have a strong squad and are ready for both matches."

Bayern are in impressive form, leading the Bundesliga by 9 points and only finishing second in the Champions League group stage after one defeat.

Meanwhile, Real Madrid are looking to bounce back after losing 2-1 to LaLiga relegation candidates Mallorca on Saturday.
