The 2026/27 competition continues with a 32-team group stage divided between the West and East regions. The clubs are drawn into eight groups of four, with four groups allocated to each region. Each team plays six group-stage matches, meeting every opponent once at home and once away.
The tournament also retains its qualification pathway through a preliminary stage. Some clubs enter directly into the group stage, while others must progress through preliminary matches to secure their place. After the group stage, the competition moves into the knockout rounds. The leading teams progress to the Round of 16, followed by the quarter-finals and semi-finals.
