Swedish striker Gustav Lundgren has suffered an Achilles tendon injury and will miss the World Cup.
Lundgren, who came on in the 70th minute to make his second appearance for the Swedish national team, was injured during his warm-up on Monday ahead of GAIS's first match of the Allsvenskan season against Djurgarden, and did not participate in the 0-1 home defeat.

Initial reports before the match at Gamla Ullevi were quite serious, with the 30-year-old player seen limping off the pitch with the support of two GAIS medical staff.
It has now been confirmed that the winger has ruptured his Achilles tendon and will not be participating in the World Cup, and may even miss the entire 2026 Allsvenskan season.
Lundgren was interviewed by Swedish television after the match, still trying to come to terms with the injury and the news he had just received.
'I was a bit shocked. I was about to take a step back and generate some momentum, and then I felt something happen," the GAIS player said.
Blagult's coach Graham Potter is now looking for a replacement for a player who played a key role in the Swedish team; Lundgren was involved in a number of opportunities that led to Viktor Gyokeres' decisive goal.
"Of course you'd wish it was a different occasion, to be able to go. When you have so much to look forward to and the opportunity to experience a World Cup, it's a great thing," Lundgren admitted.
